These are some of Westcountry Wax Melts most popular questions if you cant find the answer you are looking for please get in contact.

What are wax melts ?

Wax melts are small pieces of wax (in our case soy wax) ours are mixed with the finest fragrance oils. When used in a warmer they omit an amazing scent throughout your home or office.

Why choose wax melts?

The Advantages of using wax melts are:

. They are easy to use

. The scent fills the whole room

. There are a variety of scents and designs to choose from.

How long do Westcountry Wax Melts last?

Our wax melts last for approx. 8-12 hours.

How Many Wax Melters per room ?

Generally you only need one in a room  , however if you have a very large room you may need more than one.

Are Wax Melts safe?

Our wax melts have been vigorously tested before being put on sale.

They are considered safe when following the correct safety guidance you can find this on the website or on the card that arrived with your order. For wax melters purchased at other retailers please refer to their safety instructions.

Wax melters must NEVER be left unattended and the safety guidance must always be followed.

What is the steam coming from the wax when melted?

This is called a fragrance vapour, it is perfectly normal, it is the sign of a good quality fragrance release and will be filling your home with the fragrance you chose.

What warmers to use?

We recommend that you use a 4 hour tealight with a wax melt warmer, these must be at least 10cm tall to be able to melt the wax.

You can use electric melters, however, some well known branded electric melters have been used during our testing and haven't worked well with wax melts that are not their own brand . If you would like further information please do get in contact and we can advise which melters we recommend.

What is the white frosting on some of the wax?

Frosting is the natural process in wax that contains liquid fragrance oil what happens is that it begin to crystallize. Crystallization happens over time and at different temperatures also if the wax is subject to fluctuations in temperature . Frosting is most common in natural waxes such as soy and shows that the wax is pure.

Are you insured?

Yes Westcountry Wax Melts are fully insured.

Are safety data sheets available?

Yes data sheets are available on request, I am fully CLP compliant and all Allergy information can be found under CLP information in the menu.

Why does the colour sink to the bottom?

When we colour the wax we use a coloured powder called mica, naturally mica is heavier than wax so once melted does sink to the bottom this doesn't affect the scent throw.

What do we do when the wax has omitted all its smell ?

When the wax has finished, wax can be removed when cold from the Melter and put in the rubbish and a new wax can be added to the warmer.

Why are some scents strong and others not?

At Westcountry Wax Melts we have scents for everyone and that means naturally some scents give of a subtle scent while others are strong . We are happy to advise on what scents are subtle or stronger to suit your preference.

Are wax melts safe arround pets?
Every effort is made to ensure our products is pet friendly we cannot 100% guarantee this.
Whilst the majority of pets are fine with are wax melts it would be impossible for me to know if your pet has any specific allergies which could be triggered by my wax melts, however I have customers that use them with no issues with cats and dogs.
We always recommend speaking to your vet and getting some advice about the use of soy wax around your pet before purchasing if you are concerned that your pet would be affected.

We advise against using wax melts in a room with birds 🐦 as they are extremely sensitive to smells .
